Latest update from Todd County Emergency Management Director Ash Groves:

As Pennyrile Electric continues restoring power to areas impacted by Winter Storm Fern, Todd County Emergency Management will begin transitioning warming and respite centers into a standby mode in order to conserve resources while maintaining readiness.

These transitions are anticipated to begin around 3:00 PM, based on current restoration progress.

Facilities that have been operating as warming or respite centers will remain available to reopen quickly should power outages continue, recur, or impact surrounding areas. This approach allows the county to balance responsible resource use while ensuring continued support for affected communities.

Todd County Emergency Management will continue to monitor Pennyrile Electric’s outage map and maintain direct communication with Pennyrile Electric leadership to assess restoration progress and best address the needs of communities still impacted by power disruptions.

Residents are encouraged to remain prepared for changing conditions and to continue checking on neighbors, family members, and friends—especially those who are elderly or medically vulnerable.

If additional warming or respite centers are reopened, the community will be notified promptly.

For official updates, continue to monitor WEKT Radio and the Todd County Emergency Management Facebook page.
