An Elkton woman was charged on Monday after an Investigation into her claims of an assault.
Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say on January 5th, law enforcement was called to Russellville Medical Center for 20-year-old Katelynn Leon, who claimed she was assaulted by Alexandro Leon Lopez and had cuts and red marks on her body.
Alexandro Leon Lopez was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged assault. Deputies say after further investigation, it was found he was at work at the time she claimed he assaulted her.
She was then questioned again by law enforcement and reportedly admitted she lied about the incident and her injuries were self-inflicted.
Deputies say Alexandro Leon Lopez was released from the Todd County Jail. Katelynn Leon was arrested and charged with false report of an incident to law enforcement.
