Extension Office Plans Cooking Classes, Brain Workout Events Through End Of January

Family and Consumer Science programs continue at the Todd County Extension Office through the rest of January with cooking classes and brain workouts, says Extension Agent Jill Harris.

Partnering with Harris’ nutrition education program, “Meals for One or Two” will return for a second event Tuesday, Jan. 27. The free program is an adult cooking class designed for those who cook primarily single meals or for themselves and a partner.

Wednesday, Jan. 28 will have Todd Countians “Traveling the World Without Leaving Your Kitchen,” an event that explores different global flavors. Harris says the first class may become a series depending on how it goes in January.

The class will begin at 10 a.m., and will also be a Lunch and Learn event with the Todd County Chamber of Commerce. Those interested should register in advance to ensure there are enough food samples for everyone.

“Wits Workout” will also continue through January with additional sessions on January 16, 23 and 30, all beginning at 10 a.m.
