Todd County Middle School brought home a total of 11 awards at the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition (KAAC) Governor’s Cup showcase last weekend.
Saturday, Dec. 6, sixth grade Todd County students traveled to University Heights Academy in Hopkinsville to compete in KAAC’s Sixth Grade Showcase, an event designed to give sixth graders a competitive platform during their transition from elementary to middle school Governor’s Cup opportunities.
At the competition, Todd County Middle School placed second overall, and the school’s Quick Recall team came in third place.
Students also earned numerous individual awards:
Emma Jolly – First place in composition
John Kenner – Fourth place in social studies; fourth place in science
Nolan Key – Third place in social studies
Zoey Patrick – Fourth place in language arts; fifth place in composition
Milly Johnson – Third place in composition
Libby Moore – Fourth place in arts and humanities
NaJaiya Mayes – Third place in language arts
Todd County Schools’ Academic Team Coach Lisa Petrie says the students displayed outstanding skill, character and determination throughout the day, representing Todd County with excellence, hard work and pride.
