Todd Central FFA Chapter President and senior Meredith Hampton has achieved a major milestone, earning the highly selective McKnight Scholars Leadership Program at Oklahoma State University.
Meredith, who is in her fourth year of FFA and plans to study Agricultural Technology, credits her favorite teacher, Quashawn Quarles, and her father for instilling in her the work ethic and agricultural knowledge necessary for this success.
McKnight Scholarship Highlights:
- Financial Value: An estimated $87,000, including an out-of-state tuition waiver and $5,000 per year.
- This program includes a short-term study abroad experience, exclusive courses, and individual mentoring.
The McKnight program aims to empower outstanding young leaders from rural communities, ensuring a life-changing opportunity for Hampton.
In other news, the Todd Central FFA served the community last week. Thanks to the generosity of donors during a recent fruit sale, 65 boxes of fruit were purchased for donation. Members divided this into 250 bags of fruit, which will be distributed on Tuesday at the Food Bank at Petrie Memorial Methodist Church to help combat food insecurity.
