Dorothy Buckley, 88, of Trenton

Mrs. Dorothy Jean “Sissy” Hampton Buckley, age 88 of Trenton, KY, passed away at 2:10 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2025, at her residence. The family has chosen a private service with burial to follow in Bell’s Chapel Cemetery. Latham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sissy was born July 10, 1937, in Hopkinsville, KY. She was the owner/operator of Hampton Seeds and the owner/operator of the family farm. She was a member of Bell’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as Pianist for many years. She loved to take care of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going dancing with her husband, Louis Buckley Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hayes Allen and Hazel Bell Stokes Hampton, her husband Louis S. Buckley Jr., her son, Robert Glenn “Bob” Sholar, her brothers, Glenn Hampton and Allen Hampton.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Hampton Osborn and her husband Will of Trenton, her son, Patrick Allen Sholar of Trenton, her brother, Paul Hampton of Trenton, her grandchildren, Briann Griffith and her husband Dave, Patrick Osborn, Mary Sholar, Gus Sholar and his wife Annagrace, Jean Ann Sholar and Hank Sholar, her great grandchildren, Spencer Pool, Mac Griffith, Jude Griffith, Hayes Osborn, Hazel Ann Sholar and Waylon Sholar also her special friend, Vertner Smith of Elkton.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to Pennyroyal Hospice, Kentucky United Methodist Home for Children, or Bell’s Chapel UMC Building Fund.
