Free Thanksgiving Meals Offered Across Todd County

As the Thanksgiving season approaches, there are several opportunities for free, community Thanksgiving meals across Todd County.

Various local churches in Clifty are planning a free community Thanksgiving meal Saturday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The meal will take place at the community building in Clifty Park, and individuals are invited to eat the meal there at the park, take it to-go or if needed, have it delivered by church volunteers. Wednesday, Nov. 26, community volunteer Kimberly Christensen and her family are offering Thanksgiving meals for local families in need. They will be offering both prepared and unprepared meals, depending on the families’ preference, and a meal delivery option will be available as well. Meals can be picked up from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 808 S. Main Street in Elkton, behind the United Southern Bank building.

Christensen asks that families sign up by Monday, Nov. 24 so she and her family have time to gather supplies and prepare the meals. To sign up, contact Christensen at kimgodwin98@gmail.com or by texting 386-266-8406.

To close out Thanksgiving week, West Side Church of Christ will offer a Thanksgiving dinner the morning of Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 27. Meal options include dine-in, carry-out and delivery, and will take place from 10 a.m. – noon at the church, located at 725 W. Main Street in Elkton. The church asks those who need their meal delivered should call ahead of time at 270-265-5217.
