A fight between two brothers led to a shot being fired on Streets Avenue in Elkton on Tuesday morning.
Elkton Police say at 1:49 am, two brothers, 32-year-old Jordan Johnson and 30-year-old Joshua Carrender, got into an argument, and a gun was pulled by Johnson. During the argument, police say the gun was accidentally discharged, hitting Carrender in the leg, severing his femoral artery.
Law enforcement reportedly used a tourniquet when they arrived to stop the bleeding, and Carrender was taken to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, then transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, and is in stable condition.
Police say alcohol and drugs are a contributing factor in the incident, and charges are pending the commonwealth attorney’s review.
The case is being investigated by Officer Stayce Player, and he was assisted by the Todd County Sheriff’s Office.
