An Elkton man was charged with drug possession after a traffic stop on Hopkinsville Road in Trigg County Thursday night.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by Brandy Adams for her taillight being out, and during the stop, they could see marijuana in the lap of the passenger, 44-year-old Joseph Harrell.
After asking him to exit the vehicle, he reportedly gave consent to a search of his pockets, where a bag of suspected meth was located.
Harrell was arrested and charged with possession of meth, and deputies say he claimed he had picked the meth up at someone’s house and meant to throw it out.
Adams was cited to court for not having proof of insurance.
