On Thursday, October 16th, members of the Todd County Central High School and Todd County Middle School Beta Clubs traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky, to participate in the Kentucky Beta Leadership Summit for two days. The event brought together students from across the state and surrounding areas to showcase their creativity, teamwork, and leadership skills through a series of competitions and collaborative projects.
One highlight of the day was the “All the World’s a Stage” competition, where students performed scenes from classic stories or nursery rhymes while incorporating the four Beta pillars: character, leadership, service, and achievement. Todd County Central’s group chose Fancy Nancy as their performance piece, earning them a spot at the National Beta Convention this summer.
In “Beta Blitz,” students demonstrated their artistic talents by designing t-shirts, trading pins, and merchandise inspired by this year’s convention theme, “Wired for Success.” Both Todd County Central High School and Middle School students excelled in this challenge and will also advance to the national level.
Another key event, Collaboration Connection, tested students’ creativity and problem-solving abilities through a variety of team-based, brain-teasing activities. Todd County Central students impressed us once again and secured another invitation to compete nationally.
The Project Proposal competition gave Beta members an opportunity to present their community service initiatives. Todd County Central High School students showcased their cleanup efforts at the historic Green River Academy in Elkton, KY, along with their collaborative acting camp, presenting under the theme “Wiring the Past for the Future.” Meanwhile, Todd County Middle School students shared their project “Pop It and Drop It,” where they collected and sold soda can tabs to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Both schools advanced to the national level for their outstanding presentations.
Congratulations to all the Todd County Beta Club members for their hard work and accomplishments. The National Beta Club Convention will be held this summer in Nashville, Tennessee, where students will continue to represent Todd County.
