The Todd County Friends of the Library has been supporting the community and the new public library in some exciting new ways this year.

Elkton Rotary Club members gathered at the Milliken Memorial Community House for their weekly meeting Wednesday, Oct. 15 to hear about the organization, a non-profit group of volunteers who support the public library through fundraising, volunteering and advocacy.

Retired educator and Friend of the Library Anne Stahl says she recently sent out the group’s cookbook project to publishers, complete with 600 recipes from Todd Countians. The cover was designed by a Todd County Middle School student, and 11 other students’ artwork will be featured throughout the book. She notes it will hopefully be available December 1.

The organization will also be taking a trip to Frankfort to join the Friends of the Library at the state level.

Stahl encourages anyone interested to join the Todd County Friends of the Library and help the organization provide scholarships and needed materials to the library and county’s students. Membership fees will go toward a scholarship fund to fulfill one of the group’s missions this year – to provide a scholarship for a student at TCCHS.
