A Todd County sesquicentennial plate from 1971 is currently up for auction.
Jan Bartee Walker, TCCHS Class of 1979 alumni and retired educator, recently donated her family’s sesquicentennial plate to the TCCHS Alumni Foundation.
Carolyn Wells writes the plate, celebrating 150 years of Todd County since it was founded in 1820, has traveled all over the country and even across the Atlantic Ocean with Walker and her family, from Kentucky to Alabama, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Georgia and Germany, before returning to the county it honors.
She adds the plate is a rare keepsake that is not often available for sale. Bidding for the plate begins at $20 on Wells’ Facebook page and the final sale amount will be used to fund the TCCHS Alumni Foundation’s scholarship efforts.
