The Trenton Police Chief has been credited with pulling a woman from a burning vehicle after a wreck on Hammacksville Road Thursday morning.
Todd County Sheriff’s Deputy Patrick Turner says Trenton Police Chief Henry Hamlet attempted to stop a vehicle that was driving recklessly through town, disregarding stop signs.
The vehicle reportedly continued, hitting a mailbox and a porch on a house before overturning, then catching fire.
Turner says Hamlet was able to pull the woman, who is in her 60’s out through the back window, keeping her from being seriously injured or killed.
The crash and the whole incident are believed to have been caused by a medical issue, Turner says, adding the woman was treated for her medical issue along with minor scrapes and cuts.
Trenton Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the vehicle fire.
