A regional Red Cross exercise is scheduled to take place in Todd County in a few weeks, and Todd County Emergency Management is seeking volunteers.
Ash Groves, new Todd County EM, told WEKT Your News Edge the event will take place on Saturday, September 6th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at Petrie Memorial Methodist Church in Elkton.
The day will serve as a time to prepare and be ready for the next disaster.
Groves added he wants to know all of the churches, groups, and individuals who can help in the moments after a disaster strikes.
The ultimate goal is to have a designated warming center or shelter within an easy driving distance for all residents.
Groves said you can sign up before the event, but you can also register on Saturday, September 6th, in person that morning.
