Kimberly Stevenson, a teacher at Todd County Middle School, has been named one of nine outstanding educators to receive the 2026 Kentucky Teacher Achievement Award.

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) announced the winners on Wednesday, who were selected from a pool of 753 nominees. As a recipient of the award, Stevenson is now in the running for the 2026 Kentucky Teacher of the Year, which will be announced in October.

The KDE praised the winners for their dedication and innovation in the classroom. “The nine teachers who earned the Teacher Achievement Awards represent the best of a great group of educators in the Commonwealth,” said Commissioner of Education Robbie Fletcher.

Stevenson and the other award recipients will be honored at a ceremony in Frankfort on October 7th. The overall Kentucky Teacher of the Year will be announced at that time and will receive a $10,000 prize.
