
A wreck on Stringtown Road sent five people to the hospital, three with possible severe injuries Friday afternoon.
Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say a northbound truck collided with a southbound horse and buggy just after 5 pm near the intersection of West Jefferson Davis Highway.
Four helicopters were called to take three adults and one child from the buggy to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, with a second child being taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
Deputies say the horse suffered severe injuries in the crash and was euthanized. Todd County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Todd County EMS, Air Evac, Fairview Fire Department, and Todd County Rescue.
