Several chickens were killed and a barn was severely damaged in a fire on Britmart Road in Todd County Tuesday morning.
Todd County emergency personnel say they received a call of a fire and located a large chicken house partially engulfed in flames.
Firefighters from Fairview, Allegre, Elkton, Pembroke, and Honey Grove were called to help extinguish the fire.
Some of the chickens were reportedly rescued from a chicken house on Blue Hole Road that was destroyed earlier in the year due to a tornado.
