The Edge Media Group is again hosting its annual Cooling Our Communities campaign to donate fans to Pennyrile Allied Community Services.

The donations will be distributed to senior citizens and families who struggle during the hot summer months due to financial constraints.

PACS Community Services Director Krista Groves said that air flow in a home helps to stay cooler.

PACS serves a nine-county region and has already disbursed the over 200 fans collected during last year’s campaign. Groves, along with Trigg County’s Tiffany Roth, added that the need is already blowing in.

Both shared that while they will take whatever new fans they can get, those in need typically ask for fans that feature a pedestal and rotate around the room.

PACS also features other assistance for the community members who need it. Those services can be sought out by visiting your local PACS office in Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Trigg Counties.

Monetary donations can be made at pacs-ky.org and marked for Cooling Our Communities, or fans can be purchased and left at Haley Hardware in Elkton. Donations can also be dropped off at the PACS office inside the Todd County Senior Citizens Center at 104 Morris Weathers Lane or the Todd County Public Library.

Walker Automotive serves as the presenting sponsor for WEKT’s Cooling Our Communities campaign. Live remote broadcasts will take place on Tuesday, June 10th, and Thursday, June 19th, at Haley Hardware in Elkton; more details here.
