Local 90s Tribute Band Touring And Gaining Traction

Local 90s tribute band Saved by the Music has quickly been gaining traction and will be performing a couple upcoming concerts in the area.

A product of bassist Jason Yates, Saved by the Music will perform in Guthrie at Longhurst Park Saturday, June 28 in a concert sponsored by Guthrie Main Street. Additionally, they will be Friday night’s opener for Hoptown Summer Salute in a few months.

The musicians of Saved by the Music started their musical careers in country, but eventually transitioned to 90s rock with the tribute band, where they play artists like Pearl Jam, Matchbox Twenty and Gin Blossoms. Band member Samuel Suiter says that genre is what they all grew up on and is their favorite era of music.

On stage, Suiter may be a familiar face for some as his day job is a K-9 Officer for the Hopkinsville Police Department.

Yates says the band started gaining momentum last year and since then, everything has been taking off faster than they expected it would. Saved by the Music just recently played in Nashville, Tennessee, and this month will take the group to Pensacola, Florida, Gulf Shores, Alabama, then to Guthrie and Hopkinsville.
