
The National Weather Service in Paducah has confirmed a tornado hit portions of northern Todd County Friday evening.
In a survey completed Sunday, an EF-2 tornado, with a path length of 6 miles and a width of 200 yards, started on Shaw Ovil Road in Christian County.
The tornado, with peak winds of 120 MPH, continued east into Todd County, crossing Kentucky 189 and eventually lifting to the west of Kentucky 181.
The survey added that the worst damage occurred along Blue Hole Road, where several chicken houses were destroyed and a mobile home was swept away.
Dozens of trees were snapped or uprooted, and a few outbuildings were damaged.
The tornado was on the ground from 6:42 to 6:49 PM Friday.
