U.S. 68 at East Jefferson Davis Highway, near Williams Hill Road, was closed for about two hours Tuesday morning as emergency officials worked to clear a crash involving a Todd County Schools bus and a truck.

Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say a school bus, driven by Pete Cole, was on Williams Hill Road turning onto U.S. 68 when it collided with a westbound truck pulling a trailer, driven by Jonathan Hoover, just before 6:40 AM.

They added that three children and Cole, along with Hoover, were injured in the crash and were being transported to the hospital – none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening. There were six students on the bus at the time of the accident.

Todd County Schools Superintendent Mark Thomas confirmed the injuries, thanking the Elkton Police Department, Todd County Sheriff’s Department, Elkton Fire Department, Todd County Rescue, Christian County EMS, Montgomery County EMS, and others for their assistance. He added, “They appreciate the community’s thoughts and prayers for those involved in this accident.”
