
A home on Old Railroad Lane in Todd County was severely damaged in a fire Sunday afternoon.
Elkton Fire Department Chief James Calvery says the fire started in the back of the home and spread to the attic causing extensive damage to the home.
A firefighter was checked out by EMS but did not need to be taken to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Calvery says the family will be displaced due to the damage and the American Red Cross was called to help them.
Kentucky Fire Marshalls have been contacted to help determine the cause of the fire.
Elkton Firefighters were assisted by Guthrie, Trenton, Allensville, and Fairview Fire departments along with help from Todd County EMS and the Todd County Sheriff’s Office.
