Kentucky Historical Society’s New Initiative To Provide $10,000 Grants To Arts And Heritage Institutions

The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) recently announced the launch of a new grant program, which will offer $10,000 in funding for Kentucky institutions.

According to a press release from the state’s Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, The Kentucky Sestercentennial Commission’s America250KY grant program commemorates 250 years of American history since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, aiming to strengthen programming of museums, local history organizations, public libraries, educational institutions and other applicable government agencies and 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.

“Kentucky’s rich history and culture attract people from across the world, fueling our record-breaking $13.8 billion tourism industry. This program will showcase our world-class museums, historic sites and more as we celebrate an important milestone in our nation’s history,” said Gov. Andy Beshear. “Grants will support our local communities and attractions, while also inviting more people to visit our new Kentucky home.”

Through educational programs, events and activities, the initiative’s funding assistance is expected to increase tourism and economic growth throughout the Commonwealth, highlighting the value of preserving history and heritage.
