Elijah Bell is a 2018 graduate of Todd County Central High School.
He values most from his time in school the friendships he made in the classroom and on the basketball court.
His time on the school’s basketball team greatly impacted Bell, who recalls being part of the first team to win the district championship in 16 years as well as making it to the regional semi-finals tournament. He says he will always treasure the memory of those competitions.
Bell advises current students to focus on their future because high school goes by quick. He adds to have a goal and plan they would like to achieve, whether it’s college, a career or a trade.
To current educators, he says to remind students college is not the only option. Also, to prepare kids for the real world because it can be overwhelming. Bell says both parents and teachers have big parts to play in students’ lives, and educators should strive to encourage students, have faith in them and never give up — teachers should be a positive role model inside and outside the classroom.
Bell still calls Todd County his home and currently lives in Hadensville, Ky.
