A Lewisburg man was charged after reportedly leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit in Todd County Wednesday night.

Kentucky State Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Kentucky 181 near the Muhlenberg County line and the driver Lee Moore fled.

Todd County Sheriff’s deputies were reportedly able to use a tire deflation device at the intersection of Kentucky 181 and US 68. Moore reportedly continued for about 2 miles before turning into a road leading to a rock quarry near Tress Shop Road.

Police say Moore got out of the vehicle, fled to the lake, swam across it, and scaled a vertical rock wall about 50 feet before he could not go on.

Todd County Emergency Management reportedly helped by providing a boat and a life jacket to assist the troopers in getting Moore into custody.

The car Moore was driving had been previously reported stolen in Todd County. Moore was arrested and charged with speeding, DUI third offense, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree fleeing or evading police, receiving stolen property, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, third-degree criminal trespassing, and several traffic violations.
