Todd County FRYSC Serves Hundreds Of Youth Throughout Summer

Todd County’s Family Resource and Youth Services Center (FRYSC) had an outstanding summer with hundreds of students served across the county.

From May to August, the FRYSC was able to serve 809 students in Todd County.

Individual and clothing donations from the community reached an estimated $14,000, allowing 140 students to receive back-to-school clothes through the Backpack Program. Through the Firecracker 5k, Elkton’s Rotary Club raised $8,900 for the Happy Feet program, giving brand-new pairs of shoes to 128 Todd County students.

44 families received summer food boxes and 33 received storm recovery assistance, with the community raising $6,467 for backpack food funds.

As for FRYSC summer events, 15 students attended Super Star Chef Camp, eight families and 13 youth attended Cook Together Camp, and 119 families attended the center’s various Summer Community Nights throughout the county.

The FRYSC thanks the community for their help in serving the county’s youth.
