As summer turns to fall, Todd County will soon be filled with hundreds of hay bales.
Registration for Todd County’s 11th Annual Hay Bale Trail is now open until Tuesday, Sept. 10 for the community to submit their entries, says Todd County Chamber of Commerce Director Tiffany Groves.
The showcase celebrates the beginning of the fall season and will feature a “trail” of sculptures across the county, made from hay bales and straw.
Six prizes are awarded, with “most creative” and “fan favorites” given to the winners in three different categories – small, large and mega.
Last year’s Hay Bale Trail winners include a harvest goddess, a multicolored peacock and a giant Starship Enterprise “Straw Trek” cruiser.

The trail will open Sept. 21 for locals and visitors alike to explore the countryside and see the creativity Todd County has to offer.
