He adds growth is a huge topic for Elkton. State-wide numbers on tourism are up and Green says events such as HarvestFest and the BR Knuckles Annual July 3 Celebration have a positive impact on the city and draw people to the county. He notes these large community events bring people in from cities like Nashville and Bowling Green and he has spoken with individuals who have ended up moving to Todd County. Green says people want to come to small-town venues and businesses – part of Elkton’s appeal specifically is because it’s unique.

Additionally, the city will continue to focus on park work, such as the new playground and soccer complex, and looking at additional grants for the city. Green says at the end of the day, it’s a matter of maintaining the city’s ability to address issues and move forward.
