Leslie Marie O’Shoney Rager is a 1984 graduate of Todd County Central High School.
She values most from her time in school the small classes and close-knit community that made her high school experience perfect. Rager says her memories of parades, dances and extracurricular activities are forever etched in her mind and she will always remember her community supporting the students and staff in everything they did — something that is still true today. Her favorite memories are ones from basketball games and supporting the Rebels, especially when they played at Rupp Area. In fact, one of Rager’s most treasured memories from high school is traveling to Rupp Arena with the band to play for the Boy’s State Tournament.
Rager advises current students to enjoy their small community and school. She says time passes all too fast and “adulting” is far less fun than being a student surrounded by friends every day.
She thanks Todd County educators for investing in the community’s youth.
After graduating, Rager attended Western Kentucky University and earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising with a minor in business administration. Currently, her vocation is in sales and outreach in the long-term care industry and hospital administration. She has been working in the administrative medical field for over 20 years.
She adds she also has fond memories of substitute teaching regularly at Todd Central for around six years. She enjoyed the students and staff immensely while she was there and says it was a fun, caring and safe environment for all.
Rager was born in Chicago, Illinois and lives in Elkton with her high school sweetheart and spouse of 36 years Barry Rager. She has two children, Cloie and Landon.
