Clifty Bank Severely Damaged In Fire

A bank on Kentucky 107 in Clifty was severely damaged in a fire Friday morning.

Allegre Fire Department Chief Steven Weaver says a down power line is believed to have started a fire that quickly spread across the roof of United Southern Bank badly damaging the structure.

No one was inside the building at the time.

The bank is located at the intersection of Kentucky 181 and Kentucky 107.

Firefighters from Clifty, Elkton, and Sharon Grove were all called to help extinguish the fire. Firefighters were also assisted by Todd County EMS and the Todd County Sheriff’s Office.
