Todd County Central High School Alumni Spotlight: Danny Laster

Danny O. Laster is a 1972 graduate of Todd County Central High School.

He values most from Todd Central his experience in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Laster says his sponsor, Mrs. Lawson, instilled in him the future of salesmanship. He has fond memories of walking the school’s halls, the examples of Coaches Art Douglas and Ann Brandon, and the friendships he still has today, even after 50 years.

Laster adds he will always treasure the memory of being named Leading Salesman in FBLA three years in a row. He says this led him to his future occupation.

He advises current Todd Central students to study hard, enjoy every moment, and remember the great teachers and friends they meet. To current educators, he says to be patient and always be a great example to each student.

After graduating, Laster attended Austin Peay State University. He was a salesman for American General Insurance for 40 years before becoming a member of the Elkton City Council, where he presently serves and has served for the past 22 years.

Laster was born in Elkton and still lives there today with his wife Debbie. He has two children, both graduates of Todd Central Daniel, Class of ’92, and Sherry, Class of ’95.
