TCCHS Students Share Speeches Of Hope With Elkton Rotary Club

Four Todd County Central High School students spent part of Wednesday afternoon competing in the annual Elkton Rotary Club speech contest.

The students presented on the theme of hope. Senior Aaron Brown, the winner, asked Rotarians, ‘How Have We Lost Hope?’ He also presented some solutions to that problem.

Brown’s win came with a $300 prize from the Elkton Rotary Club and a spot in the sectionals competition.

Sophomore Anna Mallory, who came in second place and won $200, told Rotarians there has always been hope.

Senior Treyvon Osborne pondered the question – ‘How Do You Relate To Hope?’

Senior Charity Langley answered the question, “What Is Hope?’

Both Osborne and Langley tied for third place, and each won $100. Judges for the speech contest included Petrie Memorial Methodist Church Pastor Willard Knipp, Todd County Jailer Jeff Penick, and Todd County Chamber of Commerce Director Tiffany Groves.
