James Cory Mills is a 1977 graduate of Todd County Central High School.
After graduating, he attended Campbellsville University to earn a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, then Southern Seminary for a master’s in church music. Throughout his career, Mills has spent 47 years as a volunteer Minister of Music, 25 years as a commercial real estate broker and was the Corporate Facilities Director of Old National Bank.
As for Todd Central, Mills values most his lifelong friendships and the quality education he received, led by his many dedicated teachers.
He says he remembers the support of the school and the entire county when his father George Mills Jr. passed away. Another memory he treasures is escorting Rose Marie Murray to the homecoming court. He adds that several of his friends collected money so he could buy a sports coat.
To current students, Mills says to be glad you’re in a school district with caring leadership, and to take the most rigorous courses you can because it will prepare you for life. To current educators, he says to never ever give up – your every action is training the next generation.
Mills is originally from Owensboro, Kentucky and now lives in Evansville, Indiana. He has two children, Daniel and Stephen.
