Armadillos have continued to make their way into Kentucky recently and Todd County is no exception to that.
During a recent Elkton Rotary Club meeting, Dr. Kelly Tate, a family doctor through Logan Memorial Medical Group, shared some recent news that has revealed cases of Hansen’s disease, also known as leprosy, originating from Florida.
Dr. Tate specifically highlighted that the nine-banded armadillo, which is common in the region, is the best carrier of the disease.
However, he reassured the audience that there are treatments available for Hansen’s disease.
Dr. Tate practices medicine at Logan Primary Care in Elkton, located at 118 South Main Street. For any inquiries or appointments, his office can be contacted at 270-265-5023.
